Hi, My name is Alyssa ✨
I received my training at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology—a relational, psychoanalytic training program, where I completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I also studied for 3 years at the Seattle School of Body Psychotherapy. There I began learning somatic healing interventions through experiential learning and direct instruction that truly honor the functional integration and unity of body, emotion, psyche, behavior, and spirit. I did a clinical internship with Compass Mental Health in the San Juan Islands (WA) where I worked with both adolescents and adults experiencing PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and depression. I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington. My license number is MC61460408.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I was an educator in both public and private school settings and I continue to be a facilitator for “Turning the Wheel”, a non-profit which serves youth by offering integral life skills and social emotional learning through an inclusive, playful, movement and arts based teaching modality.
Additionally, I am deeply passionate about summer camp culture. I have worked at summer camps for well over a decade, either directly with children or serving in a leadership role. I currently serve as a mental health coordinator for a local camp in the San Juan archipelago.
When I am not working with clients, I love being in the outdoors. You can find me searching for sea glass or hiking among the old growth Cedar trees. I also love baking and find an excuse to put sprinkles on just about anything. My happiest moments usually involve rose tea and time spent in rocking chairs. I love to dance, go to live music, and celebrate the little things, like on-time ferries. On a rare occasion, you might find me on stage as I pursue a lifelong desire to act in community theater. I have big dreams and I have tender days. I'm a lot of things. I wear lots of hats. Most importantly though, I think it's important that you know I'm human - just like you. I am a real, human person who is in a constant state of growing, learning, and transformation.
