“It is my deepest belief that we heal through the context of relationship.”
I am a relationally-oriented psychotherapist who believes that change happens in authentic encounters with another human being. We are harmed in relationships, and it is also where we heal. I hold a radical openness to both myself and my clients and honor the courage that it takes to do therapeutic work. My therapeutic orientation is rooted in science and our work together will include the concepts of attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, IFS, and somatic work.
I really believe in this stuff. I have done my own personal psychotherapy for over 10 years and continue to do this work because I have found that it is through the attunement, love, and acceptance that can be cultivated within the therapeutic space, that we can finally find the safety to connect to and learn about ourselves and our own needs. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe and inviting space that will nurture your sense of connectedness and compassion for yourself.
I view therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we will consider your pain, your needs, your beliefs, and learn about the creative yet costly ways you have defended yourself against hurt. We will pay close attention to how your past links to the present and discover what you might need to care well for yourself as you dance with your own desires for the future. We'll focus on tangible ways to help you build emotional awareness, develop authentic relationships, and deepen your understanding of yourself.
My hope is that the understanding that can emerge over time in this slow process will guide your way forward as you live into your hearts’ deepest longings.
I deeply value humor, playfulness, and our bodies' ability to know and teach us about ourselves. My style is warm, relational, transparent, engaged and supportive: I am here to travel beside you as you discover
